Founded in 2009, the Batik Boutique is a social good fashion company that was founded as a response to the needs of several single mothers in Southeast Asia. Batik is the name of an ancient art form on cloth that employs a wax-resistant hand-dying technique and the Boutique aims to use such material to become a transformational business for its employees and community.

The Batik Boutique employs single mothers as well as others struggling with poverty, while also donating a portion of the proceeds to benefit the needs of the communities its involved in directly.

Seeking to empower Southeast Asian communities and the individuals that belong to them, Batik was born out of the endeavor to create economically sustainable business opportunities that incorporated these women's sewing skills.
