Renault Mobiliz Program Provides Services to Low-Income Consumers

Many low-income individuals find themselves in situations where they cannot get to work because their car has broken down and they don't have the finances to get it fixed, and now the French automaker Renault has just launched the Renault Mobiliz program as a response to this social plight.

The Renault Mobiliz program aims to enhance the mobility of those 8 million people in France who currently live below the poverty line. The program includes services and initiatives that help augment mobility, such as carpooling services and helping individuals get their driver's licences. A major part of the program is the 'Socially Responsible Renault Garages,' which are volunteer garages around the area that allow consumers to get their vehicles repaired at very low costs.

According to the brand's press release, the program will comprise three main purposes: "real-life mobility service solutions; the creation of an investment company to finance mobility projects; and a partnership with the 'Enterprise and Poverty' Chair at HEC Paris."
