Pop Culture Burnout Ads

This Dimitri Daniloff 'Best Buy Campaign' is Hard on its Luck

Anyone with an interest in funky, offbeat advertising campaigns should definitely check out this Dimitri Daniloff 'Best Buy Campaign.'

The ads depict various fictional characters from pop culture in less than heroic settings. Robocop lies on a psychiatrist's couch singing the blues to his therapist, while a cyclops waits for a bus in the gray, industrial edges of town; last and perhaps least, a deadbeat koopa sits befuddled in his messy apartment.

Daniloff is based in Paris and works primarily as a photographer. Interestingly his education is in mathematics and science. However at the age of 26 he was given a camera as a gift and soon went headlong into the art of photography. As suggested by his work featured here, Daniloff draws much of his inspiration and material from pop culture. His original yet easy to relate to style has garnered him commissions from such clients as Absolut Vodka, Nike and Audi.
