Commissioned to create a cover for the June issue of Completely London, Joseph Egan and Hunter Thompson took a quintessentially British symbol, the Union Jack, and splattered it throughout a large, otherwise bare room. The effect is decidedly psychedelic. One’s perspective of the Union Jack shifts, as the flag is spread across varying planes and angles.
The Union Jack has been a symbol of the United Kingdom for centuries. Its intersecting bars of blue, white and red are a familiar site for not just the British, but people all over the world. Thompson and Egan have managed to take this ubiquitous, well-known symbol and transform it without losing any of its essential qualities.
Completely London made a clever decision hiring this dynamic design duo.
