Hostels are normally dirty and cheap crash pads, but the posh and pink Hostal La Buena Vida in Mexico is far from that. The designer boutique hotel is situated in the city center surrounded by rich historical Mexican landmarks. Although the design is more upscale, the prices are very reasonable at around $25/night.

The candy-like design continues inwards, where visitors are met with art deco furnishings and lively facades. The rooms are outfitted with bunk beds, lavish bedding and modern flat dish sinks. There is also a strong use of typography throughout the inn, where various living spaces have been labelled with a bold sans serif font. If travelers need a break from all the colorful furnishings, the rooftop patio provides the perfect place to unwind and soak in the rays.

The name of the hotel Hostel La Buena Vida translates roughly into ‘The Good Life Hostel’, which is fitting considering it looks like something straight out of a Kanye West video.
