The Atacama Starry Nights Series Films the Sky from Chile

'Astronomer's Paradise' is the first episode in the Atacama Starry Nights timelapse movie series, filmed in the barren Atacama Desert of Chile. The Atacama Desert is home to some of the largest and most powerful telescopes in the world, which are operated by the European Southern Observatory. The astounding series provides views of the stars many of us will not get to experience first hand.

The fascinating video features stunning visuals of the unspoiled night sky, free from urban lights. This first installment from the series was produced by Babak Tafreshi, Stephane Guisard and Christoph Malin from Cerro Paranal in the Atacama Desert, a remote location that provides a full horizon free from obstacles and light.
