Digital Polaroid Frame Turns Digital Photos Into Photo Relics

With the imminent death of Polaroid, David Friedmans designed a digital picture frame concept that makes sure the familiar look of the Polaroid photo lives on.

The design incorporates retro features such as a “Classic” mode where the photos gradually appear over about a minute or so, just like a real Polaroid photo; while “Standard” mode functions like any other digital picture frame. The bottom portion of the frame features a dry erase surface, so you can write your own title for your slideshow by hand, using a dry erase marker. Another Polaroid touch is the stand on the back of the frame which can rotate to an upward position, sticking up above the top of the frame and revealing a hole for you to stick a pushpin through on your board.

You input the pictures via a memory card and navigate using the touch screen. It can be powered by a cable or a rechargeable internal battery. Now if only this design incorporated a digital camera like some of the new frame models, then it would be the ultimate digital Polaroid. Take a picture and shake it!
