The Danielle Guelbart series featured on Dazed Digital evokes warm recognition for hometown experience and embracing your wanderlust.
The photographs tend to be nostalgic in theme, but can gain an eerie quality. The subjects are mainly familiar, being the artist's friends or warm coastlines. However, Guelbart has spent much of her time travelling and documenting her experiences in her photographs. The subjects become richer in character as she wanders. Featured in Dazed Digital magazine, the New Yorker also works in illustration and painting. The young hopeful answers on Dazed Digital, " I like to paint, snap photos and write crappy prose. Sometimes I feel creatively blocked in one area so I resort to another medium."
The Danielle Guelbart series is a minimalist recount of emotion and experience with an excellent use of subject versus composition.
