DragonBot Gives Children an Interactive Companion

Stuffed animals are great, but a robot such as the DragonBot is even better when it comes to giving kids a toy.

The DragonBot is a robotic platform designed by Adam Setapen, Natalie Freed and Cynthia Breazeal who are a part of the Personal Robots Group at the MIT Media Lab. The purpose behind this creation is to help kids learn while studying robot and human interaction at the same time. It's controlled primarily through Android smartphones which also doubles as the creatures animated face. But if there's no mobile device, it can be controlled via tablets. It has the capability to harness cloud-computing paradigms that gives it the ability to learn from other robots. The DragonBot also is impressively lifelike with its movements, which makes it feel all the more real.
