Fantastically Furnished Installations

Malene Hartmann Rasmussen is Inspired by the Brothers Grimm

There is a fairy tale element to Malene Hartmann Rasmussen's latest installation. Inspired by the folk tales of the Brothers Grimm, it is no surprise that this is the case. Titled 'If I Had a Heart I Could Love You,' the installation does in fact have heart, or hearts in this case.

Within Malene Hartmann Rasmussen's dark art installation are 613 individual pieces, 22 of which are hearts. Made out of ceramics and glass, 'If I Had a Heart I Could Love You' was created for London’s Royal College of Art SHOW exhibition.

Aside from the obvious fantastical features, Malene Hartmann Rasmussen also used a process called ceramic transfer to create graphic element. Basically, this technique applies a screenprint with ceramic colors onto a print that is then transferred to the glazed surface.
