'Putin's Army' Campaign Rewards Supporters Who Strip with iPad 2s

Although he maintains the incumbency of Russia's second highest position, Russian Prime Minister Vladmir Putin wants another shot at the number one spot, and he hopes to get there by using iPad 2s, strippers and a YouTube video dubbed 'Putin's Army.'

Known for his Caesar-like ability to rile up the electorate, the Russian Prime Minister has launched a risky publicity campaign via YouTube called 'Putin's Army.' The video urges women to tear off their clothes on webcam in the hopes of delivering Putin back into the Kremlin after the March 2012 general election. But the women won't be stripping for free -- they're all competing for the chance to win an iPad 2.

During Russia's long Soviet-controlled period, advertising would rarely include nudity or sexualized themes; however, things have changed, much to the chagrin of Russian feminists and human rights activists. Whether the 'Putin's Army' stunt will curry favor with the public is still up in the air, but for now we know that this is among the boldest moves an already bold man has made.
