The solution to the problem is remarkably simple in looks, but it's an example of resourceful and intelligent engineering. The full thickness of the folded seats is an astounding 4 inches, which eliminates up to 70% of the conventional width. This allows more chairs to be placed down the steps of the assembly room and gives people more room to move around. Plywood slats provide cantilevered support for up to 600 pounds on Ziba JumpSeats, while the clean wood-clad perches sandwich strong sheet steel cores.
