Bloggers Back Buddhists

International Blogger's Day For Burma

Today, October 4, marks the official "International Bloggers' Day for Burma."

Currently, "Burma" is the most-searched-for topic on Technorati, but instead of indicating that it's the most blogged about topic on the web at the moment, it's actually an anti-blogging reflection backed by supporters of "Free Burma!"

"International bloggers are preparing an action to support the peaceful revolution in Burma," FreeBurma.org explained. "We want to set a sign for freedom and show our sympathy for these people who are fighting their cruel regime without weapons. These Bloggers are planning to refrain from posting to their blogs on October 4 and just put up one Banner then, underlined with the words 'Free Burma!'"
which indicates it's likely the most blogged about topic of the moment.

Facebook is another online vehicle getting like-minded activists together to back the rallying Burmese Buddhists. Anyone on Facebook can join the Free Burma group, or other groups of similar nature.

The gallery features an gathering of banners from blogs in support.
