Inflatables to Protect Fragile Seniors

Over 22% of Japanese people are 65 years or older--it's Japan's fastest-growing population segment. They might fall down a lot. Therefore some inventors are seeing a new market for wearable air bags.

Some of these wearbags are definitely produced with a specific audience in mind. The first image in the gallery, for example, is made with someone with epilepsy and would only really work if they fell backwards. And the collar airbag would be great for someone in a wheelchair since it works from any angle. I'm not sure about the construction guy's wearbag, though. Maybe it's to prevent girl-watching whiplash...
