Yohji Yamamoto's Y-3 releases its offerings for the 2019 Spring/Summer season and the spotlight is placed on the collection's ultra-versatile and incredibly chic urban waterproof jackets. The silhouettes take on a minimalist noir aesthetic — one that is easily associated with the designer's approach to fashion.
What really stands out in Y-3's Spring/Summer collection, however, is the functionality. Yamamoto looked to parachuting and sailing for inspiration as he was developing the high-performing silhouettes of the urban waterproof jackets. The material bears the name of SHAKEDRY™ GORE-TEX® and is identified as "the world's lightest." The product weighs about 356 grams.
Y-3 makes its piece available in two silhouettes — one is a hoodie-style jacket with adjustable cuffs and hems, while the other is a longer oversized coat with double-entry side pockets and a storm flap.
