As concerns for the environment are rising among the populous, the solar panel backpack has been widely adopted as a product for the commuter, the backpacker and the hiker.
The latest innovation in this category is SunUp — a solar panel backpack that is developed by Brunel University design graduate Bradley Brister. This has not been launched to solely compete with other versions on the market, but rather to address the rigidity, breakability, and effectness of solar panels, optimizing the silhouette to be more user-friendly.
For SunUp, Bradley Brister "combines a number of small polycrystalline solar panels with flexible joints." In collaboration with The North Face, the young designer was able to release the modular solar panel solution and the product can be draped over a backpack or a canoe.
