Humanoid-Replicating Robots

Sanctuary AI Built a Fully-Functional Humanoid Robot to Automate Tasks

The 'Phoenix' is a humanoid general-purpose robot that can perform a wide range of work tasks in various industries. It is the sixth-generation robot developed by Sanctuary AI, a company that aims to create human-like intelligence in robots. Phoenix stands at 5 feet 7 inches and weighs 155 pounds, with a maximum payload of 55 pounds and a maximum speed of 3 miles per hour. It has industry-leading robotic hands with 20 degrees of freedom that can manipulate objects with high dexterity and precision. It also has a bolder color palette and elevated textures that enhance its aesthetics.

Phoenix is powered by Carbon, a cognitive architecture and software platform that integrates modern AI technologies to translate natural language into action in the real world. Carbon enables Phoenix to think and act like a person, using symbolic and logical reasoning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and human-in-the-loop supervision. Carbon also provides explainable and auditable reasoning, task, and motion plans for Phoenix, as well as agency and goal-seeking behaviors. Phoenix is trained in photo-realistic and physics-realistic world simulations and can also be teleoperated by humans.
