Recyclable PET Cans

ALPLA and CCL Label Reimagine Beverage Cans in Plastic

ALPLA and CCL Label are introducing recyclable PET cans that combine the appearance of traditional beverage cans with familiar plastic packaging infrastructure. The transparent 0.33-liter container can be produced with recycled PET and integrated into existing PET filling lines. Its detachable EcoFloat shrink sleeve provides a metallic, full-body finish while separating from PET flakes during recycling. A tethered, resealable cap adds bottle-like convenience, while the PET construction eliminates the need for the BPA-containing epoxy coatings traditionally associated with some metal food packaging.

The format gives beverage companies another packaging option as European regulations and sustainability goals reshape material choices. Compatibility with existing filling equipment could reduce the infrastructure required for adoption, while preforms and sleeves require less storage and transportation space than empty prefabricated cans. For ALPLA and CCL Label, the solution creates opportunities to serve brands seeking distinctive packaging without moving outside established PET recycling systems.
