Everbridge, a provider of critical event management software, has announced the integration of its platform with a newly developed Personal Safety Device. This product is a wearable gadget designed to enhance the security of employees who work alone or in remote settings.
Everbridge's Personal Safety Device functions independently of a user's personal smartphone. In order to do so, it utilizes multiple connectivity technologies, including cellular, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, to transmit location data and emergency signals. Its design is intended to be discreet, often worn behind an identification badge, and features include a manual distress button, automatic fall detection, and continuous location tracking.
Bryan Barney, Chief Product Officer at Everbridge, shared about the Personal Safety Device: “Our customers need to protect their people no matter where they are and without relying on a phone that might be locked, buried in a bag, or unreachable in a crisis."
