Functional Genomic Data Projects

Lexogen and Ochre Bio Complete Their Research Endeavor

Lexogen, a biotechnology firm based in Austria, has publicly confirmed the conclusion of a major collaborative research endeavor with Ochre Bio, a company focused on creating new treatments for chronic liver conditions.

This extensive project involved the generation of functional genomic data from more than 120,000 specimens of primary human liver cells. Lexogen provided its specialized RNA sequencing services to analyze the samples. The data produced through this partnership is intended to support Ochre Bio's artificial intelligence-driven platform for identifying potential therapeutic targets for liver diseases.

The scale and quality of the genomic data generated are critical for enhancing the accuracy of AI models used to pinpoint the root causes of disease. More precise target identification can, in theory, lead to the development of more effective and targeted RNA-based therapies in the future.
