At first glance, you could be forgiven for thinking the Mi Pad is an iPad mini. Upon closer inspectoin, you could still be forgiven for thinking that the Mi Pad is an iPad mini. Because that's pretty much what it's intended to be.
Manufactured by Chinese company Xiaomi, the Mi Pad is an unabashed rip-off of the iPad mini. Everything around the product's launch was ripped off from Apple, with even Xiaomi's employees dressed up exactly like Apple employees.
The Mi Pad has the exact same screen size (7.9 inches), aspect ratio (4:3) and screen resolution (2,048 x 1,536) as the iPad mini. The only notable difference is the plastic external build which is available in a variety of light pastel colors.
The Mi Pad will be made available in 16 GB and 64 GB models. The 16 GB model will start from about $241 and the 64 GB model, from around $273.
