MoodHacker is the name of a mental health app that hopes to combat depression in the workplace. As one of the leading causes for absenteeism, it is only natural that someone would step in to make a difference in this way. After all, the accessibility of mobile technology ensures that this mental health app could make a bigger difference than more traditional routes.
Created by health tech company Orcas, the mental health app combines exercises and technique derived from positive psychology and Dr. Peter Lewinsohn's “Coping with Depression” cognitive behavior therapy program. Michael Mulvihill, the CEO of ORCAS, says about the mental health app, "MoodHacker aims to activate and engage employees in positive cognitive and behavioral skills to improve their mood, reduce depressive symptoms, and prevent escalation to clinical depression."
