Google introduced Google Workspace Flows as a new no-code automation layer inside its Google Workspace productivity suite, powered by the company’s Gemini AI models. The tool sits on top of familiar apps like Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Chat, helping teams streamline repetitive tasks without extra software. Its key differentiator is the combination of workflow automation with customizable AI “Gems,” or agents trained on an organization’s specific context.

Workspace Flows lets users trigger actions across apps—for example, updating a spreadsheet when certain emails arrive or generating follow-up messages from meeting notes. Because Gemini is embedded, Flows can go beyond simple if-this-then-that rules to interpret documents, summarize feedback, and apply rules tailored to budgets, org charts, or project constraints. Everything runs inside Workspace, so companies avoid third-party add-ons and complex integrations.

For consumers and business teams, Workspace Flows signals a shift toward more intelligent, embedded automation in everyday productivity tools.
