The Garmin Approach S3 touchscreen watch may not make the average putter drive like a Masters tournament winner, but it will help one to better know far they are from the green.
Equipped with information about 27,000 golf courses with periodic free updates, the golf watch keeps a tally of the golfer's strokes and shot distance. It also displays how many yards the golfer is from the front, middle and back of each green, the layout of each green and also allows the player to customize a layup distance to avoid water, sand and other hazards on each course.
This touchscreen model is designed to last for about eight hours of playing time or a few weeks of regular use. While it doesn't promise that the golfer will consistently be shooting under par, it is a nifty little helper that will knock a few strokes off the round.
