Computer towers can be boring, bulky and just plain ugly, unless they get the special treatment like Flightline by Jeffrey Stephenson, a hobbyist computer designer based in Mcalpin, Florida. As impressive as his past Mondrian Mini-ITX Case and Mission-Style PC Case, it was inspired by the Wright Brothers Memorial at Kitty Hawk in North Carolina, specifically the grandson of the monument's designer.
Taking on an art deco sunburst aesthetic, Flightline by Jeffrey Stephenson is made out of 167 pieces of handcut veneer. The designer states, "Flightline is made from quilted maple, maple burl, mahogany, lacewood and aircraft grade birch plywood." Now a desk ornament, it is stunningly sculptural. Soon people will be knocking on Stephenson's door in order to have one of their own.
