Director-Inspired Lingerie

The Marika Vera Spring 2013 Line is Inspired by David Lynch

The surreal work of film and TV director David Lynch has left people scratching their heads for decades. Now, it's inspired a suitably otherworldly lingerie collection.

Mexican designer Marika Vera has created a Spring 2013 line with pieces inspired by Lynch's tormented heroines from Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet and other films. For people still pining for Laura Palmer, here's your chance to show your devotion.

The collection, called Welcome To The Rabbit Hole, pairs tailored shirt collars with backless negligees and sheer skirt-slips with choker collars. Using contrasting shades of pink and blood red to evoke the eternal David Lynch duel between innocence and evil, it's ravishing, shockingly original and, like Lynch, a little disturbing.

Designer Vera has a knack for repurposing cultural icons as fashion-forward underwear. Her last collection was a futuristic set inspired by 1960s' fantasy bombshell Barbarella.

Vera knows where to draw the line, so you won't find any Eraserheador items in this sexy collection.
