The ‘COLLAGENE’ is a software program designed to create customized masks. The mask is 3D rendered to create a visceral-inspired look that distinguishes the design work. The software uses Xbox’s Kinect system to capture a subject’s face to fully customize the mask to fit the wearer. The project is developed by the company ‘DO THE MUTATION.’
The mask resembles the appearance of human veins, which gives the mask that grotesque look. These masks are probably something a photographer would use for shoots or a designer for a runway show, but whatever they're used for, they will evoke a sense of fascination in anyone.
