In an effort to alter the way we consume news, Dhairya Dand and Dan Sawada developed a device you either shake or flip to literally change your perspective. The FlipIt was created by MIT Media Lab researchers to merge broadcast media and social media news feeds.

The way people consume news has changed drastically in the past few decades, moving from newspapers to radio to television and now social media feeds compatible with computers and pocket-fitting mobile devices. The FlipIt lets you view news in a hardwood device that has a framed screen on one side and a speaker on the other. This allows users to either engage with visual stories on one end and audio on the other.
