The 'chill out chair' has been designed by Ng Hoi of the NGHOI design studio as a seating solution that would provide a single person with a bench-like experience to help them spread out as they take a load off. The chair maintains a relatively simple form for the base and seat section, while the back section of the furniture piece takes center stage. The rear section of the chair is expanded to be roughly three-times larger than is otherwise required to give the sitter the experience of sitting on a bench by themselves.
The 'chill out chair' allows for a person to sit back and rest their arms on the back support and, while only a prototype at the time of publishing, the furniture piece could support social distancing protocols.
