Ultra-Distressed Shoe Designs

The New BEAMS x PUMA Silhouette is Inspired by Vintage Sweatshirts

A new BEAMS x PUMA footwear silhouette enters the game and fashion critics describe the pair as not "pre-distressed" but "pre-destroyed." The two brands certainly took it up a notch, pushing the boundaries of the grimy and worn-in aesthetic appeal to explore its boundaries. The footwear model in question is the Splistream Low Retro—reportedly " a brand new silhouette that riffs on the German sportswear giant's Slipstream model."

For this release and experiment, the brands drew inspiration from vintage sweatshirts. One may see a 'SAMPLE' tag on the heel but it is unclear whether that is part of the final design—it likely is. Additionally, there is a dimension of uniqueness to this BEAMS x PUMA collaboration as each sneaker is finished by hand.
