Instacart, DUMAC and TRUNO Enhance AI-Powered Smart Cart Adoption

Leading grocery technology company Instacart has joined forces with two leading point-of-sale (POS) providers to enhance the adoption of its AI-powered smart carts for grocers of all sizes across North America. The collaborators on this pivotal project that streamlines the POS experience are "DUMAC Business Systems, a leading POS solutions provider for independent grocery and convenience stores, and TRUNO Retail Technology Solutions, a leading provider powering over 13,000 retail locations across North America."

Instacart's AI-powered smart carts are called Caper Carts and both DUMAC and TRUNO will integrate this feature into their grocer networks. The innovation promises to streamline and improve the in-store shopping experience. Caper Carts allows customers to automatically scan items as they shop. This capability will help consumers keep track of their budget while in the store and "easily access discounts directly on the cart."
