Mortality-Themed Summer Fashion

A-Cold-Wall* Reflects on Life with the SS22 Collection of Apparel

Samuel Ross prepares to launch the Spring/Summer 2022 collection for A-Cold-Wall* and he explores a deep life concept -- the very idea of life itself. Ross explains that the collection can be viewed as a meditation on how to deal with one's own inevitable mortality. He tells Vogue UK that he was thinking about mortality and how life can be fleeting.

From this, he discovered ideas around primary colors and formed to become something more. The capsule is full of invigorating hues paired together with muted colors as well. He tells Vogue UK, “Beforehand, color has been saved as part of my industrial design practice — but now it felt like it had to overflow into A-Cold-Wall* quite unapologetically. And an idea of swinging between concealment and visibility in the style codes, too, playing with those themes."
