MediaTek is showcasing its new 5G chipsets, the chips are a 7-nanometer set that will help bring a fast wireless connection to mobile devices. Currently, 5G chips are a high priced item, however, MediaTex is looking to bring 5G chips into the mainstream. MediaTek will be making the 5G chips more accessible by putting them in lower-priced devices.
The MediaTek 5G chips feature faster download and upload speeds, with a maximum upload speed of 2.5 gbps. The chips will be supported for use anywhere from 2G to 4G and are equipped with a power saving function and displays up to 4K. The 5G chipsets will be available in 2019 and should be brought to mobile phones by early 2020.
