25 Terrifying Halloween Foods

October 31st is almost upon us, and it's time to start cooking up some terrifying Halloween creations. These snacks and treats are sure to make for a delicious, terrifying Halloween. Some are great DIY projects, like the blood splatter cookies from food blog Annie's Eats. They're actually made with a simple sugar cookie recipe topped with white fondant icing. For the finishing touch, the terrifying Halloween cookies are splattered with red blood-like icing, Jackson Pollock-style.

Other terrifying Halloween concoctions are incredible professional feats of cooking horror. Artist Christine McConnell dresses up as a 1950s housewife and then stages photos where her monstrous cake creations viciously attack her. Chef Yolanda Gampp of How to Cake It creates a red velvet and raspberry fondant cake that would probably taste delicious but looks exactly like a human brain.

These terrifying Halloween foods look like they might jump off the plate, run down the street and terrorize the neighbors if they're not eaten first -- but that's the whole point.
