When it comes to outlandish, feminine designs, there is no designer as synonymous with both concepts as Betsey Johnson. The 69 year-old designer is perhaps best known for her whimsical pieces and runway shows. Even her boutiques are as bold as she is and feature a hot-pink interior design theme.

Betsey Johnson was a part of both the youthquake fashion movement and Andy Warhol's underground scene, along with The Velvet Underground, Edie Sedgwick and Lou Reed. Her fashion line has been going strong since 1978 and in 2003, she expanded her brand to include handbags, scarves, accessories and hats.
