I find the incorporation of hair--whether it be human, animal or synthetic--into the Fall 2009 fashion collections unattractive, disquieting and gross. Designer Maison Martin Margiela, who’s known for his outlandish catwalks, started the hairy trend in the spring of this year and now other fashionistas are following suit.
Among those fashion mavens who’ve jumped on the bandwagon is Russian designer Alena Akhmadullina. Just take a look at her hairy ensemble above, as collected by Trend de la Creme. The snap of the model wearing the skirt with the long almond tresses hanging down, for example, lends itself to wicked visions of a woman with very, very hirsute private parts.
I personally find the clothes attractive but definitely cringe-worthy at the same time. Go figure.
