Pinched Flesh Alphabets

Twisted Typography from Arjan Benning

I could ramble on about the artistic underpinnings of these photos or ask such questions as “Whose skin is this?” or “How did the idea for this come about?” or “What part of the body is that?”

I could. Or I could simply say that this is the alphabet displayed using someone’s skin flaps and a bunch of clothespins. Oh yeah, and the photographer is Arjan Benning.

Implications - No longer satisfied with just function, modern-day customers are looking for products that shock them. Designs that contain that extra element of surprise are appealing to those customers who need more to be enticed by an item. Focusing on this aspect of unconventionality could increase the number of shoppers a brand attracts.
