Rare CDs On Demand

Amazon's CreateSpace Makes Obsolete Records Available for Fans

Music fans are always trying to find those hard-to-get artists and favorites that are no longer printed, and Amazon.com’s CreateSpace service now has over 20 record labels offering up more than 1,000 music titles no longer available to the general public.

The “Back from the Vault” program from CreateSpace only manufactures the CDs after a customer places an order, giving them almost instant gratification while the company doesn't need to make any copies until they are ordered.

Some of the classic artists include Louis Armstrong, Herbie Hancock, Django Reinhardt, Thelonious Monk, and Duke Ellington.

Along with the major music companies, independent labels such as Epitaph, GNP Crescendo, Rounder, and Shout! Factory have made their music available.

Music fans can order their favorite albums in MP3 or CD formats.
