911 operators brace themselves during daylight savings periods when they are bombarded with phone calls from people asking the time. So too, parents will call in with complaints about their children's eating habits, and others to ask for traffic directions.
The 911 service is in place for reports concern serious crimes in progress, critical accidents and life-or-death situations. It is not a one-stop-information-shop for the misinformed.
