The Vennesla Library and Culture House looks like it should belong in the 22nd Century, not the 21st. Granted, by the 22nd Century, printed materials will likely be long gone. Nevertheless, this book repository and cultural hub has a futuristic design that is clean, minimalist and beautiful to navigate.
Designed by Stavanger-based architecture studio Helen & Hard, the Vennesla Library and Culture House is located in Norway. Also home to a café, meeting places and administrative areas, the building combines community and learning. The designers write that it is "a symbiosis of structure, technical infrastructure, furniture and interior in one architectonic element." The unique rib design ensures that the building is mainly constructed out of eco-friendly wood.
