For her debut Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection, the Russian fashion designer Ulyana Sergeenko came up with a hyper-glamorous lookbook, inspired by the vintage editorials of Soviet fashion magazines in the '50s. Both the dresses and the pictures are gorgeous: every detail, from the outfits to hairdos and the slightly vignetted lighting to the floral wallpaper background refer to a retro, classy femininity.
The dresses themselves have loads of personality and make the models shift from an innocent, almost fairy appearance (some kind of classy, grown Little Red Riding Hood) to an austere and committed allure passing through highly feminine and sensuous gowns. Well, if this is the debut, Ulyana Sergeenko definitely has got the skills to be one of the up-and-coming names of the fashion scene.
After all, she’s a fashionista, and has a fabulous website too.
