Each April, more than half a million visitors tour and enjoy hundreds of acres of brightly colored blossoms at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. It is the largest festival in Northwest Washington State. Located near Seattle’s Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands and beautiful British Columbia, it is a region of many delights. Tourists can combine their visit with a bike tour, a wine tour, a helicopter flight, or a number of other activities. This is the perfect get-away for Master Gardeners or gardener wannabes. For less intrepid tulip-lovers, posters, shown in the gallery above, and other goodies are available from the festival site.  Tulip fans find that there is truly something for everybody as they poke around and explore the Skagit Valley.

Art shows abound, with everything from original paintings to photography, wearable art and pottery. Plus the art shows taking place during the festival offer classes and hands-on demonstrations
