Brightly colored or calm and plain, light enough for a kid to carry, and environmentally sensitive, the Astronomer Stool makes a great step up or little sit-down for kids. There are two sizes. They’re painted with non-toxic, water-based finish free of VOC health hazards and made from FSC-certified aspen. I love the look of these little stools. They’re stylish and cheery. I wouldn’t mind putting one in my kitchen. The company not only uses green sourcing and finishing, it repurposes the wood scraps from production and packages using renewable, biodegradable materials with an absolute minimum of plastic.  The designs are functional, versatile and solidly built to last throughout childhood and into the next generation. Our furniture is not only non-toxic it is also made in the USA and constructed with only FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) wood or wood that is locally-sourced from responsibly managed forests. All of our products have been tested and comply with US Consumer Product Safety Commission regulations.
