School chairs have seemed to change little over the years. People of all shapes and sizes squeezed into their chairs and screeched them across the floor when they moved them.
The Node chair from Steelcase changes all that.
This slick mobile chair/table combo makes noisy, uncomfortable, and unfunctional seating a thing of the past. Courtesy of IDEO, this new chair sports a moveable table, wheels, and a special storage area underneath that keeps napsacks out of the way but still within reach.
When I sat in it I found it comfortable and fun. Unlike the old time chairs it didn't feel like I was ready for business, as much as I felt I wanted to challenge the guy next to me in a school chair race.
