Demure Mount Street, near London's posh Bond Street, does not look like the place for radical interiors. Nicholas Ghesquiere, together with French artist Dominique Gonzales-Foerster, conceived of all of luxury brand Balenciaga's flagship stores: Paris (a cave theme with asteroids), New York (another twist on the cave, with interactive rocks), Hong Kong (a muted pastel mountain landscape) and perhaps the most ambitious, Milan (a milky way space world). The duo continued to go a bit wild for the London shop, which opened last week, that focuses on women's ready to wear and accessories. You'd never guess that tucked behind the historic brick facade, there is an alien landscape ruled by texture (gold coloured metal grilles, volcanic rock and silver leaf) and technology (there is an interactive 'sound forest' which responds to movement by emiting sounds and video)
