Sleep Debt Campaigns

Sleep Country's Latest Campaign Highlighted the Financial Costs of Poor Sleep

Turns out, a bad night's sleep might be costing Canadians more than a little energy. Sleep Country's latest campaign, 'Sleep Debt,' introduces the concept of a "tired tax," highlighting the everyday spending habits that can accompany insufficient rest, from extra coffees and takeout orders to late-night impulse purchases.

Backed by new consumer research, the campaign reveals that 60% of Canadians surveyed say they're more likely to order takeout when sleep-deprived, rising to 79% among poor sleepers under 35. Meanwhile, 63% of respondents under 35 who experience insufficient sleep report being more prone to impulse purchases when tired. Launched ahead of the November clock change, the campaign brings these findings to life through creator partnerships, expert commentary, and a custom "tired tax" receipt.

By connecting sleep quality to financial wellness, Sleep Country makes an often-overlooked consequence of poor rest feel surprisingly relatable.
