Panasonic VieraCast HDTVs Can Now Make Skype Calls

Skype has literally revolutionized video calling and is continuing that legacy by now offering owners of a Panasonic VieraCast HDTV to make Skype video calls directly from their television. However, Panasonic's TY-CC10W webcam, which is sold separately, is needed in order for the application to work.

The webcam is said to support 720p video, have "four unidirectional microphones," amazing audio that can be heard three to four meters away and an echo canceling system. It makes you wonder if the Skype video calls will soon make home telephones obsolete.
