Designer David Taylor started with some silver bars, and then added an odd piece of plastic to hold together his improvised design. The design of the Silver Candlesticks is almost haphazard, as though someone just picked up whatever was laying around to complete the candlestick design.
The silver in the silver candlesticks adds a touch of class, but it's hard to imagine these in anything but an industrial setting.
Implications - Youth consumers in particular are oriented towards the future and are eager to see new forms manifest. This is in part attributable to the an over-appropriation of elements from previous decades. Companies can draw consumers in and evoke newness in their designs.
