Inspired by the shadow of a traditional floor lamp, Silhouette by Diogo Frias, a product designer born and based in Porto, Portugal, is incredibly thin. It has a two-dimensional aesthetic that is just shy of cartoonish. Instead, thanks to its sleek design and sophisticated finish, the light fixture is made for a mature home with a playful streak.

Silhouette by Diogo Frias was created with small spaces in mind. Interestingly enough, the light it sheds is quite unique. Instead of the typical light bulb, the 'lampshade' emits a warm glow quite reminiscent of a fireplace. The designer writes, "Its shape allows with the same lamp to create two different environments, changing the acrylics that assume the role of lampshades, and this is one feature that makes it unique in the universe of lamps."
