I was literally stopped dead in my tracks by the image of a very regular looking woman sitting in a very regular looking kitchen, clutching a telephone. No, I was not peeping into someone’s window. I was looking at a Shaun Downey painting hanging the window of the ‘Ingram Gallery.'

The painting titled ‘Green Mug’ was one of many astounding life-like pieces by local artist Shaun Downey. The 20-something artist has been turning heads according to the folks at ‘Ingram’ who represent Downey. The paintings look so real that it could be easily confused for a photograph from a digital camera.

I truly believe this is can’t-miss art and I sure plan to secure a Shaun Downey original for my wall.
